We hadn't planned to go, but after the wife spoke with a couple of people who were going the first night in DC, she asked me to find tickets. I spent all day try to scalp a pair, and we ended up way in the upper deck, but had a great night any way.

The opening, "City of Blinding Light" is just spectacular -- to me, the real highlight of the night, creating just an incredible energy level, which remained that way through Vertigo, Elevation, Electric Co, Out of Control, ISHFWILF (great sing along) and Beautiful Day. By then, we were exhausted.

Other highlights ...

I was surprised how well Bono nailed the Pavarotti part in Miss Sarajevo.

WTSHNN was equally brilliant as City of Blinding Lights.

Thrilled to hear Walk On in the encore. Would have really liked to have finished with Yahweh and 40, but we got Bad instead, so I can't really complain.

Here's hoping the lads are back in DC soon.
