2005-12-07 - Boston Treated Special again........ submitted by Derek WithamThis being my 8th show on this tour, it held its own against the best show, the thursday May 28th show. Anyways, yes the crowd parts of it were lame however the floor sections and most of the loge sections went completely nuts. Gloria being part of the setlist was a nice suprise, many Christmas snippets and references as well as a full length Instant Karma were just what the dr. ordered. Bono was in good form, I attended Sunday nights show as well, and I will say the 2nd night in a row plays tricks with his voice. Not complaining just pointing out the obvious. I also brought my 7 year old, his first concert ever and this bands first 15 minutes are by far unparalelled to any band in the world (something he will be able to talk about forever). This show and every other from City of blinding lights, Veritgo, to Elevation might be the best first three songs you will ever hear and feel energy wise. I dont' care if they ever change that. I find myself thinking while they are playing certain songs, (they will never cut this from any set from here on in) and that's the truth with this band. They have so many songs they (HAVE TO) perform forever as far as I am concerned. The setlist was great the snippets keep you wanting more and being in Boston you always seem to get something special, last night it was "Crumbs from your table" I think this is only the 3rd time they have played it, and one other time it was in Boston. Sunday nights show had FAST CARS in it, and I had been waiting all tour to hear it and finally did. I don't think this will last long in their rotations, unappreciated by the common fan, but very appreciated by a certain few...... I know I sound snobby, but it's how I perceive things...........
