2005-11-20 - Poor John D...life is tough isn't it? submitted by jtwadman

well...John...I too, have seen many, MANY U2 shows over the years. I have spent the better part of 20 years flying all over the US to see some of rock musics greatest communicators do what they do. In that time I have seen what Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead say was probably the Deads best performance and best interaction between the crowd in the last 20 years of their playing. I saw Springsteen on his 50th birthday at the Phialdelphia Spectrum in 1999 and I saw U2 in Veags on 11/5 from the elipse. Bar none, the bst LIVE performance U2 has put on this tour. Take it as a whole, not Bonos voice missing a note here and there but the level of performance, energy, interaction between the crowd and the feeling of ONE between performer and audience. That is what the great ones strive for and that night the hit it!!!
