2017-06-06 - 30 years later, didn't miss a beat! submitted by Gerry Goldfarb

I first saw U2 at the St. Paul Civic Center back in 1987 and have seen them 4 times since, and many times over and over via DVD or Blu-Ray... Saturday they didn't miss a beat after 30 years... this was my favorite concert hearing the complete Joshua Tree album but also hearing many of my favorites. Starting out with "Sunday Bloody Sunday" was simply an awesome way to start with Larry walking down the walkway and then hitting the drums... and I have loved the song "Bad" since I first heard it years ago, Saturday the song was played and the energy was so intense I was fist pumping with goosebumps all over my body. The Edge and Bono just went crazy playing that song. It was so great to hear it "live" again after many times hearing it over and over on 'Wide Awake in America' and wearing out that cassette, then the CD, and now listening on my iPhone over and over... The concert was perfect, the outdoor setting was perfect, the weather was perfect, and the closing songs were perfect. "Beautiful Day, Elevation, One and I Will Follow" were so awesome to hear and see again. I definitely 'will follow' if they come to Minneapolis in the fall if the rumors are true... but right now I will soak up what i just saw on Saturday night and know I heard the Joshua Tree like I have never heard it before! Thanks U2!
