Review

2001-11-06 - Austin Show submitted by Ryan

I also saw Dallas 4-3-01, and while that show was great (Iwas in the heart), I think this show was better!!! The guys seemed more comfortable with the songs, Please was awesome, as was UTEOTW, and Streets of course... The only thing I thought I might have liked is a little less reference to the 11th, not that what they did wasn't beautiful and touching and perfect, it was kinda like Larry touring Graceland, he would have liked it better maybe, if Elvis wasn't buried in the back yard, and that's kinda how this was, I felt so amazing watching them play (getting to meet all 4 members before the show did't hurt), but the 11th seemed so removed from that incredibly happy day... I would like to add that the hug of the American Flag during SBS made me cry it was so beautiful, as did the listing of the names during One, so maybe it was perfect as was the rest of the show, it was just a different kind of U2 perfection... Wild Honey was great, as was Kite and Pride and ISHFWILF, all of which absent from the Dallas set list!!! By the way, they were all very cool (especially Bono and Adam at this paticular show), and Larry even came out, myself and another fan said Happy Belated B-Day and he thanked us both, Adam and Bono were very cool, and Edge was great even though the group of people tackling each other for auotgraph's weren't... After he went in, the security guy said that poeple needed to calm down if the rest of them were to stay longer and after that everyone was cool... Adam and Edge signed my "Rock's Hottest Ticket" Time magazine, but Bono and Larry had to go "do the soundcheck so they didn't have time to sign everything, sorry about that" accoring to Bono, and I said that was fine and have a great tour and we loved U2, and Adam and Bono both said "Cool, thanks very much, man", and I almost passed out!!! All in all, the best day I have ever had!!!
