Review

2001-11-06 - Austin submitted by T

There were so many great moments last night that it's hard to know where to begin. U2's message post 9-11 has found a renewed meaning. The band simply allowed the music to speak for itself. From 'Elevation' to 'Walk On,' the show never faltered. 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' was once again a highlight - incredibly relevant for a 20 year-old song. Bono even added a touch of humor as he had an audience member hold up the lyrics for 'Wild Honey.' "Soon we'll be rock stars with bifocals."

It was a fantastic night. We need U2 more than ever and last night they did not disappoint. The best part of all was that I took my 11 year-old to his first show. He won't admit that he was blown away, but he slept in his concert t-shirt last night and then wore it to school today. I'm glad that he has seen what music can be. U2 begins again...
