Review

2016-07-28 - Snowy Day in Cleveland submitted by David Kerns

The was a major snow storm in Cleveland on December 8, 1981. Snow plows could not keep up with the accumulation so most roads were shut down. Only a small crowd were able to make it to see U2's second show in Cleveland at the old Agora Theater. The show was actually held in the Pop Shop which was the venue in the basement of the Agora. As show time approached I thought it might be canceled do to the weather and low turnout but as the band came onto the low stage Bono thanked the crowd of only about 30 for making the effort to see the show despite the bad weather and he promised they would do their best to reward us with a great show. That was a promise they certainly kept. For me it turn out to be one of the most amazing, intimate and rememberable concerts I have ever seen.
