Review
2005-11-12 - The San Francisco Bay Area Has Found What It's Looking For... submitted by Joe...and It is Energy.
I have seen U2 twice.
This time...
I am with my girl friend, my mom, and my aunt.
Don't laugh...
I bought the tickets.
Now you can laugh.
We show up early so that we don't miss anything. We see and hear Damian Marley for a little bit. After his performace, I run down to buy a concert program and two shirts.
...Shit, the show is starting...
I blert out to the girl behind the counter that I want the black shirt with "Veritgo" written on it, and the other one with "Dismantle" on it. She asks me "What size?". ... a normal question, yes. Wrong time, yes. Because...
All the while I hear what sounds like U2 about to take the stage.
My beautiful girl friend is in another line about thirty feet away, about to buy us a couple drinks (for the bargain price of $20). Shit.
We get the shits, the progarm, the drinks... $100. the show is starting... we're no where near our seats... and broke.
We are still in for the best U2 experience of our lives...
The CROWD at the Oakland Arena on November the 8th was something out of a U2 DVD. You people KICKED ASS. So did the band (of course).
However this time (unlike the previous times I have seen U2 in Oakland), the band was able to use the full impact of what a great audience makes them. It's an incredible sight to watch U2 perform live with people like that backing them up.
I wish I could have been one of the lucky ones in the pit or whatever they call it at a U2 show.
Well, actually I'm glad to have had seats at all.
To have been there to see them with Lauren, Lois, and Bonnie could only be eclipsed by seeing them with God. (and Gail)
Which also happened. back
