I have been a fan since the early 80's when they were the new kids on the block. I have seen them grow into a musical tidal wave and I have enjoyed the ride all the way. Friday was my first live concert with the "best band in the world". It made the 400 mile drive worth every mile. All the lights in Vegas did not shine more brightly than the band on stage and the fans in the arena who responded in kind. Bono truly knows how to reach out to the fans and make us feel appreciated. He told us, "you've given us a great life" and it hit home. The concert was also filled with hope. Bono describes The Edge as a time traveller from a future that's "better". The crowd loved it. A declaration of human rights is appropriate from the band and a frontman that believes in what he says. I'm looking forward to the next time our paths cross. It was magic.
