Review
2001-11-05 - U2 Philly review submitted by MilesPretty good show. Crowd was really loud. Band didn't seem too in to things at times - a little bored. New Years Day and Bad especially. Probably the most lethargic version of Bad I've ever seen.
Wild Honey does not sound good the way they are playing it. I almost wish I hadn't heard it. Bono and Edge shared the mike through the hole song, which was pretty cheesy and looked a bit homo erotic. They're playing it in a weird key, and the missing 2nd guitar really hurts. Bono didn't even try the high notes. Edge did and missed them.
But there were moments of greatness. Out of Control sounded fresh and exciting. The band obviously still enjoys playing Beautiful Day and Elevation. Kite, One, and Walk On were all sweet. Quite moving.
I've seen 4 shows on this tour. I'll rank them:
1. Baltimore (3rd Leg)
2. Detroit
3. Charlotte
4. Philly (3rd Leg) back
