Review
2005-10-25 - My First submitted by Matt TootalianThis was my first U2 concert. Being 18, i havn't had much chance to see them prior to last night. My parents wouldn't pay for tickets during the elevation tour and i was too young for any tours before that.
I had GA tickets and waited in the palace parking lot from noon until 2:00 when you could start lining up.
When the doors opened i ran to the stage(didn't make it into the elipse) and i was shocked to find how close i actually was. I could lean over the bar and touch the stage.
I was awestruck through the entire show. Seeing someone like Bono, who i had only seen throuh countless television performances and hours of watching the dvds, was surreal. I couldn't believe that they were in front of me. The greatest moment for me was when he reached into the crowd and was reaching for hands. I jumped up into the air and grasped onto his hand and it was amazing. This is definately the review of someone that was completely starstruck.
The show itself was amazing and i'm not just saying that because it was my first. I've read a lot of reviews that made it seem like the band had been off this tour. I have watched various bootlegs and the band hasn't seemed to gell 100% of the time. The band seemed to really click that night. They all had smiles on their faces the entire time and really seemed to be enjoying themselves.
The setlists was great. I couldn't have been happier that they closed with 40. My only upset was that they didn't play 'Bad' which they were doing during the soundcheck.
All in all, this was one of the greatest nights of my life. back
