More Fans Boycott U2 Gigs

It's about time that an all-out war was declared against concert ticket prices. Outrageous costs for attending the higher priced live shows will be a thing of the past if Vaus D. Aslaun gets his way.

Aslaun, founder of The Fan's Final Say, an organization supporting the rights of fans, has rallied his troops together to boycott U2's Elevation 2001 tour. ChartAttack originally started a petition back when the dates were announced for a Canuck boycott, acquiring 708 names.

Concerned with ticket prices, mismanaged online sales and deceiving show announcements, Aslaun says he doesn't know where to lay the blame. "I can understand that the entertainment industry can be soulless, but artists need to wake up… they are not just entertainers, they are culture creators, and they should not subjugate its followers," stated The Fan's Final Say press release.

Tickets for U2's 2001 tour are priced anywhere from $45-$130 CDN, which has the organization irked. Also in question are the secret codes distributed to U2 online members that allowed them to purchase tickets before the designated sale date. Codes ran rampant across Ebay and radio stations, making it impossible for the "real" fans to beat others to the kill.

While most of Aslaun's lobbying is occurring in the San Francisco Bay area, he hopes that fans nationwide will take heed and follow in his footsteps.
