Omnibus Press (www.omnibuspress.com) has released the new and updated edition of Pimm Jal de la Parra’s book U2 Live: A Concert Documentary.
Since their formation in 1976, U2 have played more than 1,000 concerts to millions of fans around the world. Now updated to include the band’s PopMart and Elevation tours, U2 Live: A Concert Documentary takes you along
to every single U2 live performance. From their earliest shows in Dublin clubs to the heart-warming spectacle of their 2001 Elevation tour, this book includes:
Information, anecdotes, and facts from virtually every single U2 show, from 1976 to 2003, including spontaneous performances with local bands, impromptu sessions with fans and friends, and acoustic jams during radio and television interviews. Dates, venues, set lists, radio and television broadcasts, and detailed quotes from the stage. An insightful commentary that traces the band's musical development over 25 excitement-packed years. More than 500 photographs, most previously unseen, which follow the band's evolution from Dublin teenagers to global megastars. Concert, ads, and memorabilia collected by fans throughout the world.
U2 Live: A Concert Documentary is the definitive U2 reference book. It has been produced by U2 fans and is specifically designed to revive memories for anyone who has ever experienced a U2 performance.
Original author Pimm Jal de la Parra was the editor and publisher of the highly acclaimed U2 fan magazine Collectormania between 1987 and 1996. He spent three years researching to produce the book. De la Parra regrettably died in 2002. The new edition of U2 Live: A Concert Documentary is written by Caroline van Oosten de Boer, who is an editor at Omroep.nl (Dutch public broadcasting), author of the book Gavin Friday - The Light and Dark, and former associate editor of Collectormania magazine.
U2 Live: A Concert Documentary is available in bookstores, at online booksellers, and directly from the publisher at musicroom.com. $33.80 | £19.95 | Euro 28.70. Softcover. 272 pp. ISBN 0-7119-9198-7. October 2003.
