(Ananova.com) -- U2 have received six nominations in the Hot Press Irish Music Awards.

They will be battling The Corrs and Ash for Best Band, while Bono will be up against Ronan Keating for Best Male Singer and Neil Hannon for Best Songwriter.

The ceremony takes place in Belfast on April 25.

U2 are also nominated for Best Single and Best Live Gig by an Irish Act. Guitarist The Edge will also battle for the Best Musician award.

Ash have received four nominations themselves including Best Album.

The Corrs also have four nominations, for Best Band, Best Pop Artist, Andrea Corr for Best Female Singer and Sharon Corr for Best Musician.

Radiohead, Bob Dylan, David Gray and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers will be vying for the award for Best Live Gig for an international act.
