U2 go ahead with London gig despite Bono's dad's death
Posted on Tuesday, August 21 @ 14:32:05 CEST by macphisto

from NME

Grieving U2 frontman BONO will perform in LONDON tonight (August 21) despite the death of his father a few hours ago. Bob Hewson had been battling cancer for a number of years. He was 75.

Bono, real name Paul Hewson, has been dedicating tracks to his father throughout the UK leg of the current tour. He has been jetting back to Dublin following each of the shows to keep a bedside vigil with the "tough old fella".

Tonight is the last show on the UK tour. The band will play the first of two sold-out shows at the 80,000 capacity Slane Castlethis Saturday (August 25).
