Since the band's Elevation Tour last summer, quite some time has passed. So Bono, when will you be playing Germany the next time? "Some of the band just were tired, and we had a very full schedule over the last few years. There wasn't one night on the last tour that felt like work. But all of it, you know, it was hard, but it felt like magic. And there was a few members of the band that just don't have the energy to commit to it, but I am very sad about that because I really love to play Europe."

(Irish Mirror via YouTwo.net) -- U2 have ditched plans for concerts in Europe this summer because Bono is exhausted.

I can reveal that the band have decided to stay in the recording studio instead and give their lead singer a break from his gruelling schedule. The rockers were set to perform a number of one-off outdoor concerts including a show in Belfast.

But after months of touring and jetting around the world on humanitarian missions Bono has been ordered to take it easy for a while.

(NME.com) -- U2 have categorically denied they will play live shows this summer, scotching growing rumours of European dates with OASIS.

A brief posting on the band's website www.u2.com reads: "Stories have been swirling round the net for some time about possible dates in 2002 but contrary to current rumours there'll be no U2 dates this summer."

(U2Log.com) -- This morning the Amsterdam Arena's website reports that Mojo Concerts Holland has informed them U2's planned concerts in Amsterdam on July 19 and 20 will not take place. They claim U2 has decided not to tour this Summer.

U2tour.de was told that there won't be a U2-show in Zurich this year. An official announcement of date and place for the Swiss show is expected within the next 4 weeks according some information a U2-Fan got from the local promoter.

As reported by u2achtung.com: According to the French newspaper "Nice Matin" U2 have booked the Nikaia stadium in Nice around August 18th. Further confirmation from Nikaia officials is expected in the next couple of days.

U2 and Oasis: together at last... The ultimate double-header stadium tour confirmed (but with no UK or Irish dates, mind)

As reported recently on hotpress.com, it's looking increasingly likely that U2 and Oasis will be joining forces for a 30-date swing through Europe in July and August.

According to industry sources, the trek won't include any British or Irish shows, which ties in with reports that Oasis are planning to play a series of festival dates including Witnness.

A source close to U2 told the U2-tribute band Achtung Vorsprung that the announcement of the summer tourdates (and the advance ticket sale) is due in four to six weeks. At this point the concert negotiations are not yet settled. There were also told that the circulating story about a tour of Oasis and U2 is only a rumour.
