P.J. Harvey will launch her own North American tour this September in support of her latest album, Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea. The headlining tour will follow her current stint as the opening act for U2 on their current series of dates. More details are expected in the coming days.
Harvey tells LAUNCH that serving as U2's opening act has proven to be an educational experience. "It varies from night to night. Sometimes crowds are just waiting to see U2 and can't wait for us to get off, and then other nights people seem to really enjoy what we're doing. I think we're playing together really well as a band because of it, because there's so much more to kind of prove or try to prove to people."
LAUNCH asked Harvey if she had any thoughts on getting to observe U2's extravagant tour every night. "I do, but I'm not sure I should say it," she laughs. "You know, I've bought many U2 records over the past, and some of their songs I really, really like. They're delivering a show every night that the audience loves and goes crazy for and makes a lot of people happy."
