U2 are asking their fans to help the rescue efforts in New York and Washington.

The band are urging people to make donations to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

U2 have expressed their sympathy to everyone affected by the US terrorist attacks.

A posting on the official U2 website says: "All donated money will go to the Red Cross to help victims of this and other tragedies.
