from Irish Independent A DECISION is expected in the next 10 days from Meath County Council on whether to allow a second U2 concert at Slane Castle this summer to go ahead.

Promoters MCD have applied for a licence, and the final decision lies with the Meath County Manager Joe Horan. Meanwhile, gardai have warned fans to turn down anyone who attempts to sell them a ticket to the sanctioned concert on August 25. The concert sold out within 45 minutes, leaving thousands of fans heartbroken. But a massive concert ticket scam has been uncovered by gardai. "We are appealing for people not to buy tickets. There are none available and these ones are not worth the paper they are written on," was the advice from Garda Chief Superintendent Michael Finnegan, head of the Louth/Meath garda division. In recent weeks gardai have seized hundreds of these counterfeit tickets and have warned that criminal gangs based in Dublin are producing them, and will try to flood the market with them as the date gets closer.
