Yes, but will there be lemons? That is the important question. Irish rockers' U2 are finally about to finish up what seemed like a never-ending tour sweep of the states this coming Friday. And now, 'tis possible they might soon return for more. The band heads over to Europe after this U.S. run for a string of 33 dates there. And after that, according to Pollstar, the band's management is saying there is a good chance they might come back stateside for another string of dates here.
All of this is in support of U2's most recent album, All That You Can't Leave Behind, of course. But don't expect large lemons and scary mirrored objects flying through the air on this one, no. The boys have been taking it down a notch this time out. Not so "flashy," if you will. No fly costumes. And such. If you would like to hear a Spin.com account of the recent Elevation 2001 tour stop in Philly. In related news, Bono recently traveled to Washington DC, where he met with a presidential advisor about the AIDS epidemic in Africa, as well as third world debt and debt relief efforts. In other, other related news, "Elevation (Tomb Raider Mix)" (by former NIN man, Chris Vrenna and the Butthole Surfers' Paul Leary) is out now. The song will appear on the soundtrack to Tomb Raider, starring Angelina Jolie, out now on Elektra, and also containing tracks by the Chemical Brothers, Moby, and OutKast. The video for the song is also out now and it's like, super-dope-"crazy," if you will. In other related news, Bono and his wife Ali welcomed their fourth child-a healthy little seven pound, seven ounce boy-into the world a couple weeks ago.
